Our Team

Adam is managing partner and principal of Avera Capital Wealth Management. His practice focuses on retirement and asset management, benefits, and transition planning for privately held businesses, and estate planning. His passion for this business started at a young age, having personally experienced the benefits of having sound rational guidance through difficult transitions in his family’s life. He has over 15 years of experience and considers himself a student of this profession taking every opportunity possible to expand his knowledge and understanding of financial planning, tax law and the ever-changing economic environment. He has been married for 15 years and has 3 children. In their free time they find themselves outdoors: either camping, hunting, fishing, or supporting just about any sport they can get their hands on.

Mr. Maurer attended Western Colorado University in Gunnison on an academic and football scholarship. While in college Alex procured degrees is both business administration and economics. As a native of the Grand Valley he was offered the ability to return to Grand Junction in 2006 where he worked as a financial planner for AXA Advisors. While at AXA Advisors he obtained a multitude of securities licenses including the series 7, 66, and acted as a securities principal by passing the series 24. Prior to founding Avera Capital, Alex worked for 5 years leading a team of advisors specializing in retirement planning, asset management, tax strategies, and estate considerations. As a founding member of Avera Capital Wealth Management, Alex has furthered his education and experience working with both families, institutions, and government entities to address their financial planning and asset management objectives. Alex lives in Grand Junction with his wife Lindsay and two children. He and his family enjoy the many outdoor activities of the area including golf, skiing, and fishing.

Emily has been with Avera Capital since 2018. She is currently working in the Hotchkiss office in the role of Client Relationship Manager. This is a position she adores due to the lovely clients. In her free time, she and her two children enjoy hiking in the beautiful Western Colorado Mountains.

Kelley graduated from Colorado State University with a Degree in Communications and has over 16 years of experience in Human Resources. She is currently working in the Grand Junction office. She truly enjoys working with people and helping our clients in any way she can. Kelley is a Colorado native and her family loves camping and enjoying anything outdoors.

Erica has over 10 years of experience in finance and billing. She is currently working in the Burley office. She enjoys connecting, serving, and building relationships with our clients. Erica is an Idaho native and in her free time likes outdoor activities and traveling with her family.
